Walnut Bowl with a Hole
This bowl was turned from a lovely piece of spalted walnut. The darker lines in the sapwood are caused by fungus that had started to decompose the wood. If it’s caught early, as in this bowl, the effect of the fungus can be captured before the wood’s integrity is compromised. This is a beautiful piece for salads or serving, just don’t lose any lil tomatoes out that hole!
