Large, Deep Salad Bowl in Spalted Maple
I turned this bowl from a tree I cut down from the neighbors, just outside our kitchen window! The wood had spalted nicely and also features some nice curl. I love the way the bands on the outside help lift and define the form. The raised rim is a great detail too and handy for holding the bowl as you mix up a salad or carry it to the table. A beautiful piece and a technical achievement for me!
