This salad bowl features a really distinct, uniform pattern of contrasting heartwood and sapwood. It makes for a striking piece that also emphasizes function. This is an ideal bowl for serving large salads parties and picnics.
The wood is from a tree we cut down nearby a few months ago that was dying. We were pleased we could repurpose this beautiful wood by making some bowls and spoons and cutting up much of it to dry for furniture.
