Big Belly Sloyd In Sky Blue
I forged this sloyd style carving knife from high carbon 1084 tool steel. It has a hollow, “Scandi” grind which allows it to track easily to create flat planes. The hollow grind makes sharpening easier. I’ve been tweaking my handles for years. I’ve settled on this style which is faceted for good indexing and comfort, has a swell in the middle to fit your palm and a swell at the end to give you power and lock in your grip for big cuts.
This particular blade has a little more width in the belly of the blade and more of a curve. I find this helps for aggressive slicing cuts.
3.25” blade, 8” overall
